After you're on Answers for a while, you realize that what you see as avatars is not necessarily the depiction of the person behind it.
Since the internet has literally kazillions of photos that a person can choose from, it stands to reason that is a ready source to put up as an avatar.
It's a personal choice and if one for any reason chooses to use something other than a bonafide pics, that's their choice.
The criteria I judge anyone has nothing to do with their pics, but rather with how they answer, what they ask, and how they handle the heat when they get harsh criticism or violations.

No I don't judge people by their avatar, but alot of the time I kinda imagine that that's what the person really looks like in real life.

Their avatar may say something about their personality, or sometimes they make me think about a person in a certain way, I may imagine that person looks like this or like that. But mostly I judge people by their answers or questions.

I try not to judge people by anything but their actions, but yes, I judge people by their avatars.

i only judge the pornographic avatars... i really dislike them and think they should not be allowed... otherwise i let people choose their avatars freely...
