i dont know if your asking about the tv show, the song or actually what a "simple life' would consist of, so im going to go third, here. a simple life is one without the hassles of living in a big city, without obligations to social functions, where you can just relax and do your own thing. think of a cabin in the mountains, with just you and your loved ones...all your needs are taken care of, and you can just chill...thats a simple life. =)

I know what it means for me.....No unnecessary complications. Do you need a new Car, Bigger House, or can you live with what you got. Do you really need 3 TV's or is one enough.
Do you need to rise the corporate ladder...or do you make enough now?
