I'm buying it from a junkyard. How should I know if I see a 1995 Galant Idle Air Control Valve, for example, if it fits to my 1997 Galant? I need to know which other Galant model valves are compatible to my 1997 Galant. Thanks for all your help.

You sure the IAC is bad? I'd first make sure that the throttle body is clean. Use carb cleaner and blow the throttle body out with compressed air. Make sure you blow out the cutout holes that lead to the IAC motor or the spray will wreck the IAC motor windings. Then make sure the throttle cable has a bit of play when at rest. If the throttle is not closed completely the idle circuit will not function. Let the car idle for 5 to 10 minutes so the computer re-learns and the idle stabilizes. If the idle is still low and the car shakes in drive at a stop, adjust the idle air screw until you like the rpm's and the car doesn't shake. Note: put the car in park when making the adjustments, then check it in drive.

nicely, even though it expenses additional funds i'd in basic terms purchase direct from the mitsi broking cos in case you flow decrease priced on air filters and you get airborne dirt and dust into your engine then you definitely've a valueless automobile. in my opinion :)
