Amnesty, if you don't want to ruin your bumper with a sticker, stick it over that 3m blue masking tape. Then you can flip around between Romney and ... no one else all you want. Good to know your brother inlaw supports someone at least. :)
Offline? They only know him about 4/10 times. And of the four, 2 think he's nuts, but that's all they know. No details, in fact, they sound like parrots of AM talk radio, because that's where they get their information from. People between 25 - 40 seem to know about him, and a lot of retired people seem to know AND like him.
The coolest evidence I see, is all the Ron Paul yard signs, makes me want to go over and meet neighbors and people I would have never met. I saw about 20 on a 200 mile trip out of town for the holidays, and about 3 bumper stickers other than my own, which I put on yesterday.

The main reason is that he is not a media darling. However, more people are learning about him now than before. If anyone is paying attention to politics instead of tuning off, they will know who Ron Paul is. A little bit of searching on the internet will give them enough info to decide whether they agree with him or not.
The reason Ron Paul is not well known by some people is because of one or more of these reasons below.
1. these people are not interested in politics
2. they only listen to the hyped up media favorites
3. they are too lazy to listen and learn
4. they don't watch TV
5. they are just too stupid to follow politics
On the other hand, those who do follow politics seriously will know about Ron Paul. They will either agree with him, or disagree with him, and they'll either love him or hate him. Some may vote for him, and other may not, and there are some who are 'undecided'.
Ron Paul is supported by all kinds of people: liberals, conservatives, and independents, and people from all party affiliations and backgrounds.

About half the time. But most people like him, once they have a peek at his platform and what he believes.
The media decided many months ago to artificially pare down the race. So they reduced the poll results to just the top runners. Well that plan sort of developed some wrinkles when Rudy fell below 10% and Huckleberry jumped to the top spot.
We Ron Paul supporters do need to do a better job discussing his views with regard to Israel. RP is clearly not anti-Israel, but his also committed to ending the welfare state that the USA has become. Israel is one of those countries that receives its welfare check courtesy of the American people. That does need to stop. I happen to be a very strong supporter of Israel, but I think positive changes need to be made in our relationship.

So by saying 600,000 lives could have been spared if Lincoln would have done what his advisors recommended, buy the slaves and release them (Actually, he wanted to send them to Liberia) that is a bad thing.
Colonization
Since the 1840s Lincoln had been an advocate of the American Colonization Society program of colonizing blacks in Liberia. In an 1854 speech in Illinois, he points out the immense difficulties of such a task are an obstacle to finding an easy way to quickly end slavery.
Lincoln mentioned colonization favorably in his first Emancipation Proclamation, and continued to support efforts at colonization throughout his presidency. He appointed the Rev. James Mitchell as his Commissioner of Emigration to oversee colonization projects from 1861 through 1865. Between 1861 and 1862 Lincoln actively negotiated contracts with businessmen to colonize freed Blacks in Panama and on a small island off the coast of Haiti. The Haiti plan collapsed in 1862 and 1863 after swindling by the business agents responsible for the plan, prompting Lincoln to send ships to retrieve the colonists. The much larger Panama contract fell through in 1863 after the government of Colombia backed away from the deal and expressed hostility to colonization schemes. In 1862 Lincoln also convened a colonization conference at the White House where he addressed a group of freedmen and attempted to convince them of supporting his policy.
Or this little tidbit from the 1858 debates with Stephen Douglas:
"I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people ... I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the ***** should be denied every thing. I do not understand that because I do not want a ***** woman for a slave I must necessarily want her for a wife. My understanding is that I can just let her alone."
"Honest" Abe Lincoln
I'm sorry to slap you with truth, I'm sure you prefer your feelings.

Its about 50/50. Anybody who watches politics and is keeping an eye on the race, is familiar with him.
And Paul is definitely making waves by raising $6 million last Sunday and $18 million over the last quarter, which is more than any other GOP candidate.
Afterall, he is the only true Republican running this year.

Why should I ask anybody about him? I think he's a kook and would be dangerous for this country. Besides, he has a zero chance of getting the nomination!
I actually know 1 person that supports him though. I always did think my brother-in-law was a bit strange. My sister hates how he messed up the car with a bumper sticker!
