Our company recently switched to Lenovo from HP and we have had many problems with the Lenovos being slow to start up and slow on our LAN. The HP's we used were business models and not consumer models. Don't let anyone tell you that there's no difference between business models and consumer models.

If you want a solid laptop that will work for years, choose an HP business model like:

At work, the HP Compaq laptops we purchased in 2001 are still working for us in certain areas.

HP is the best computers around. if that is too high of a price though, then go with Toshiba, particularly the Satellite series.

Really HP laptops are okay but if you want a good one then get a Sony Vaio, they're probably the best :)
