The next time you fly, ask a steward or stewardess to remind the Captain to wish everyone an enjoyable holiday that you are comfortable hearing. If you don't believe in holidays, then maybe a "Have a Happy Weekend" from the Captain would make everybody happy. I am sure the Captain only said 'Merry Christmas' because of the upcoming holiday, which the majority of people recognize as a season of giving, whether they're Christian or not. You'd be surprised how many non-Christians celebrate giving during Christmas.
"Have a Happy 4-Day Weekend"

Absolutely! In fact you should find an attorney and file the complaint today! You have been harmed and the pilot, the airline, the flight attendants, the union, the baggage handlers and the lazy, lazy security guards at the airport should all feel the pain of your anguish. I am not sure how you can tolerate this open form of discrimination.

For what? The First Amendment protects freedom from compelled religion by the Government...not private individuals. All the Bill of Rights are restrictions on conduct by governmental entities, not restrictions on individuals. Therefore, unless the pilot was an "agent" for the government your rights have not been abridged.

what? just because someone mean wellness to everyone (regardless of race or religion) you want to sue. ridiculous.
if you do not want to be offended(because of your narrow minded thinking) buy yourself a plane, airport and pilot. or better yet walk.
merry christmas again.

Well, I don't think you should sue. I mean, it was just a caring jester that didn't mean any harm, right? I do see why you were offended, though. It probably would of been better if he/she said "Happy holidays", because not every one celebrates Christmas. But I think you should just let it go, because he didn't say anything bad-well that's my opinion. If you want to sue, then you do that. I honestly don't think you should, though.

Dear, Mr. Grinch
No YOU SHOULD NOT SUE
A religious greeting during the holidays is inevitable so don't sweat it. Happy Holi-days is the same as Happy Holy-Days. Unless you want the pilot to say "blessed be" which still sounds mighty religious. The guy only meant well.
