No. I am not interested in keeping up with the Joneses. I never was. I am trying to simplify things, not become a custodian of possessions, mine or anyone else's. The time to downsize will come soon enough. Caring about people is more important than acquiring stuff.

For me every month is a stressful month in fact I am stress on daily basis. If not due to work, its the families at home and my personal life. Being the eldest in the family, I am responsible for most of it including the finacial situations. Though I am not so bad in the financial terms but to care for 2 families under one roof with kids and adults alike is very stressful. Festive seasons like these put more weight on the shoulder. The thoughts of having to prepare so many stuff and also to celebrate christmas eve out of the blue is stressful. I am not a christians but some of the families are...So this year all are having the eve at my house... Well needless to say, what I am rushing for now...! LOL HUGS

To be honest, the "Joneses" in my life were my parents and the way I was raised. So when I had kids, I wanted the same kind of life for them. It was hard, but I managed to do it even though sometimes today I wish I had lived more frugally and not tried to replicate in an age where it was much more expensive to do so.
As far as 'others' are concerned, I could care less. I do what I can do and need and am not out to impress a soul except myself! ..and it doesn't take much to impress me, myself and I! LOL

No. never did. I could never understand all these people that have to have their McMansions. You can only occupy one room of a house at a time. Why when you have 2 people living there do you need like 5 bedrooms? You also have more rooms that need cleaning. And it cost way more to heat and cool them. Doesn't impress me much. It really says you are insecure, look at me, look at what I have!!!! What ever, Yawn!!!!

No, I probbably have alot less debt than the Jones. And, I agree with Mr. October by saying I am just trying to keep up with Uncle Sam. The taxes are getting ridiculous!

Most of the "Jones" types I knew have had marriage break ups due to the cost of keeping ahead of neighbours. I prefer to visit the "lived in" homes...most have a happier atmosphere,

Who are the Jones' We never did. Ashes to Ashes. dust to dust. I have never cared about what other people had, The more possessions you own the more you have to take care of them. I can just barely take care of myself let alone anything else now. I like simplicity and minimalist

Absolutely NOT. I've all I can do keeping up with the energy bills. Who wants to heat or cool those soon to be "white elephant" McMansions they live in? Besides, the Joneses may be going into forclosure soon.

No I don't care about keeping up with the "Jones's". I put more value in peoples deeds rather than material things.
Material things get old, fall apart, or get destroyed. Your character remains with you a lifetime.
