No, but I worked at a motel and every Christmas some church would pay for someones stay because people would have fires in their homes due to candles at this time of year. What a way to start the New Year off.

Yes, a candle near the fireplace caught some garland on fire, but we actually had a firefighter over and he put it out quickly.
However, I always think of this story on Christmas;
A girl I knew when I was 12 went to a sleepover on Christmas. She had six siblings at home, and her father fell asleep in the living room with a cigarette in his mouth. Both of her parents, all of her siblings and one cousin that was over all passed away in the fire. She was such a sweet girl, what a horrible shame. I always send warm thoughts her way this time of year,

No,never from those two things.
Our house caught fire a couple years ago. It was early morning and my husband had left to run to the store. I was sleeping but something woke me up--I am not sure why I woke and got up but I did.
I went into the kitchen to get a cup of coffe and smoke was starting to come out of a light.
I ran and switched off all the breakers to the house and called my husband.
I was dang lucky to have woken when I did, I am sure a fire would have started shortly and I might have died in it.

Yeah, my mother used to act like an amature electrician. One year she rigged up the christmas lights, but she called me over to plug them in. I put the plug in and the outlet PoPed, and sparks flew everywhere. The chord disintegrated--literally! there was no more chord and it burned the rest to the floor. Everywhere that there was a little bulb, there was now a fire. This was not the first or last time she has tried this.

No the only fire was non-Christmas related. I accidentally microwaved tin foil!!
Also with candles, I accidentally got green wax on a white/tan rug. Ehh. Had to cut out a couple threads of carpet so my mom wouldn't notice.

No, but back in Monterey, California I had a friend who accidentally fell asleep with candles going and his entire house caught fire and he lost absolutely everything. He was lucky to get out with his life.
Beings that we were all military we bound together and took care of him. No one wanted to see him suffer.
It taught me a lesson to keep an eye on candles at all times!!

No, but my Sims (from a game called 'The Sims Two which is very fun) died today. Their Christmas tree caught on fire, and the
fire truck didn't make it in time. So there went a twelve generation family...All those months...Wasted. Happy Holidays.

Not yet, but this morning I almost left the house with the 4 advent wreath candles burning. I had visions of my apartment and the potheads next door building being consumed by the seasonal flames.
