Congress on Jan. 15th. Lots of speculation already has been circulating that Roger Clemens might have to go too, and be in the hot seat like Palmeiro, McGwire, Canseco, Sosa and many others were in 2005. So, if Roger is there he will be sworn under oath, and if he is asked if he has ever used steroids or performancing enhancing drugs in the past/present, what is he going to say? Is he going to wag and point his finger with a vehement NO, like Palmeiro did, just to be proved wrong 3 months later when he tested positive and is now in post-career steroid purgatory, same with McGwire, both of these guys won't make the Hall of Fame because of it. Clemens will be put in a tough spot. You really don't want to lie in front of Congress, because who knows what other evidence is out there that Clemens has left behind in his 24 year pro career. I'm sure there are still some skeletons in his closet. But since he has already denied it, and will continue to do so, this is his only play.

My question is, if called before Congress, do you think Clemens will man up and admit that he used or will he continue to deny, deny, deny?

If Clemens gets called before Congress he will do one of two things, plead the fifth like McGwire or deny, deny, deny. He cheated and he knows it. I'm more surprised at the reaction to him as compared to Bonds. Most everyone hates Bonds for what he has done to the game, yet I don't hear that same reaction towards Clemens or McGwire for that matter. If you think one is worse than the others you are sadly mistaken. A cheater is a cheater no matter how you look at it.

Let me play devils advocate for a moment. Since we obviously live in a society that brands everyone "guilty" until proven "innocent", let's just say Clements is actually innocent. If this is the case than he has to go before congress and challenged everyone and everything that moves!

If he already knows that there is no evidence at all that could possibly link him to any type of drugs, he MUST file law suits in every direction. "Slander and Defamation of Character" would be his legal avenue and whether he ends up in front of congress or not, his legal team MUST file this suits immediately.

Each day that passes adds additional doubt of his innocence.
If I'm Roger Clemens I would presently be in the middle of suiting the hell out of everyone. I'm innocent so I have to prove it NOW!!!!!!!!

My question is, why doesn't Capitol Hill worry about something other than sports? I know those idiots use kids as the reason for all this BS. Well, how about the parents pay more attention to their kids and keep a closure eye on their habits. If they are suspicious of their teens than I advise they go through their room. Privacy, no. If a teen lives with their parents and pays no rent that is still the parents house. Parents need to take responsibility not the pro athletes.

Remember, even if some players are called to Capital Hill they do not have to say anything. If they do elect to talk it has to be the truth or they will have the same problems as Bonds if they are caught in a lie. I believe if Clemens is innocent they won't be able to keep him quiet, but if he has taken drugs he will refuse to answer on the advice of his lawyers, we will all see which position he takes if he is called to testify.

IF Clemens is called to testify, he will just deny everything. An oath means nothing to a person like him.

Clemens will only need to go before a judge if it is found that he lied when he denied the steroid allegations.

For Cliff Lee, the Mariners have been given him because of the fact they believed they could contend. fairly some human beings relatively picked the Mariners to win the AL West. The Mariners had an ace in King Felix and remarkable protection.....yet you won't be able to win without offense. Cliff Lee is doing as predicted however the team is falling nicely in need of expectancies. As for Ben Sheets, I even have confidence the A's concept they could contend interior the AL West. i think of they felt somewhat forced seeing the different communities all make some vast strikes. They felt they necessary to usher in some action picture star. and there is likewise the obtrusive reason.....vast names carry followers to the ballpark. think of of the merchandising that could desire to be achieved with Cliff Lee on the team. And Ben Sheets besides. BQ: i think of it does. it may desire to furnish him an concept of what that is choose for to pitch for the Mets.....it may desire to convince him to stay and sign interior the low season. Plus, the Mets can win the branch and having Lee at any factor might help.

He will lie once again. What does he have to gain by telling the truth then??
It's funny that Marion Jones had enough stones to tell the truth, but these big bad overpaid baseball players can't.

yes they will this will be the next act in cleaning up baseball and the fans and the commissioner would like to see players be denied from the hall of fame because of this and maybe even some prison time because they want the game to finally be clean
