I am 6 months pregant with my third. I can tell you from experience that that would be the babies hand or food stuck up under your rib cage. I had it with both my other pregnancies. Here's an old midwife trick that may help. Lie upside down on your couch and rub your tummy in a circlular motion. You will feel the baby re-position itself. This is useful too if the baby hasn't turned by the 9th month.

I am 6 full months pregnant and a few days ago I had these same pains in my ribs. It made me feel like I had to throw up, but it was the baby kicking/pushing pressure on my ribs.

That is most likely just growing pains. It is your ligaments streching or your muscles pulling off your ribs a little to make room for the baby. Totally normal and very uncomfortable. I wish I could say it gets better but they just end up in different areas. Sorry.

It very well could be the baby... I would get these really bad pains in my side and I just couldn't figure it out. One day, I pressed my hand into my side... and I felt my baby's head. I gave a slight push and he moved and the pain was gone! Amazing how much I suffered before that and all I had to do was coax him to move.

i had terrible pains around my ribs especially the left side from 4 months onwards, it was made 100 times worse by sitting upright. i just had to lay down as much as possible, it eased off after about 7 months

It is your baby most likely. I get it also. It's worse when I am sitting down and he can better reach my ribs. At my last appointment my midwife was doing her poking around and the top of my uterus is very tender from him beating me up from the inside out.

Tendons, muscles, pulling, the placement of the baby.
All of its normal.
Pregnancy is not comfortable, its painful and unpleasant. So long as you're not doubled over in pain, having strong contractions or bleeding you're fine. Its basic pregnancy rules of thumb.
You're fine, everyone who's been pregnant has had those pains.

If your doctors office is open, give them a call and ask to speak to a nurse or someone who can reassure you. If not open, you can bet there is a doctor on call who can call you back. If you don't have a doctor at least run by an urgent care center and ask them. Nothing beats peace of mind if you are worried.

It probably is your baby punching or kicking you. Give the baby a little nudge next time and he or she may move.
