Yes I have eaten a piece of "fruitcake" and I have to say it was very delightful* It wasn't the store bought variety but the home-made kind*

Well for your information yes I have, and yes I did indeed enjoy the fruit cake. In fact it is tradition around my house it is something we enjoy every year... hell I've even ordered them in the middle of summer, there's nothing better than a Texarcana Texas fruitcake!!!

I'm not really a fruit and nut kind of gal. But.....my Hubby adores the stuff. If I don't make it fresh he'll buy it and eat it right on up. He claims it is moist and yummy!! We actually have friends who save him their leftover fruit cakes that they couldn't pawn off on someone else and he is thrilled.
I don't think I could eat it. But for some, like my hubby it is the best treat possible. If he could get me to make it all year long he would be perfectly happy!!!
A curse for some of us is a treat to others!!!!

I actually have NEVER tried it! Why would I want to though with all the negative attention that it gets! I see it at my grandparents every year (for 28 years) and I don't think I've ever seen even one piece of it gone! but what can I say it's part of the tradition! lol

I willed myself to try it !! And, yep, it was not yummy !! Why do so many people give fruticakes ? ? I do realize that some people do like it but, personally, the numbers are few ( people who actually like fruitcake).
