Thank you for the thought and hope you do too.
Well I have made new years resolutions before and not kept to them.
But this year my resolutions will number no more than 7. Seven is apparently the upper average number of things a typical person may easily hold in their mind at any one time.
What is different this year is that I very firm. In fact, I am resolute. That is the first reason I am going to succeed this coming year. Secondly I am going to choose GROW SMART framework for each of my resolutions / objectives.
G - Goals
R - Review
O - Options
W - Wrap-up
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Acheiveable
R - Realistic
T - Time

My new years resolution is gonna be hard. But I will stick to it for one year. I think that if everyone would do the same we could change our country. I'm not talking about losing weight or doing some strenuous exercise program , those resolution never work out. I think personal resolutions like that are frankly doomed from the inception. the new years resolution I doing is" I am going to only buy products made in the United States of America " USA made products only. Why use this as your New Years Resolution also ? It will benefit us all .

Mine is to spend less money on shopping and maybe trying to save up for a new car.
However, last years was to stop smoking and that lasted for about 15 minutes, so I'm afraid not so very firm. I think that New Year's resolutions are really easy to break, the best think is just to make up ones mind about something and just stick to it, but perhaps not on New Year.
Best wishes for a very merry Christmas and a Fantastic 2008!

My new years resolution is the same one it is every year, and its very firm. I stick to it for the entire 12 months.
My resolution is to not make one!
I think they are a total waste of time. You do not need to set a date to DO something or to implement change. If you want to change something you have to start with the here and now. If you want to change then you will and you do not need a new year to enable you to start doing it. I have no idea why people bother making them anyway? Where did the tradition come from in the first place? To my mind every new day is a new opportunity to change your bad habits, learn new things and enhance your own quality of life... thus hopefully spreading a bit of it around to those near to you in the process!

Last year before fasting season, convinced by other friends, I started offering swalatul fazar in congregation. I was a bit afraid because i was virtually on medicine because of my sleeping disorder. Mashallah (as God has willed) after I have started offering swalatuf fazar along with jamayat, the quality of my sleeping dramatically has increased without the need of any additive medicine.
My resolution is that I will, inshallah (as God wishes), continue my new habit and encourage others to try this spiritual medicine.

Actually, I don't wait for New Year to make a resolution. if I have to make one, I make it whenever I feel there's a need for some change within me. The day I realise that, I resolve to make amends. Waiting for a particular day to start afresh doesn't appeal to me. From my experience I've noticed such compulsorily made resolutions do not last long because there is no will to back them...
*HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO*

Everyone wants their New Years Res to last, but how many people honestly make it to the end of the year doing whatever their New Years Resolution was.. I certainly hope mine does this year!

Only as firm as my convictions about the results of what I resolve to do.
This year I resolve to keep to my work out regimen. My wife deserves an Adonis!

I am a firm believer that when I make a vow that I will do something, I have to do it.This year I vow to love the world more and give back twice what I receive.Love, kindness, happiness, pain, and death. So be nice and don't piss me off.
