It can happen like that.. but it doesn't have to... You're young, so your cycle might not be as regular as your mom's... so your periods might not coincide... but once yours settles in, it very well might, as menstrating women release a pheremone that tells other women's bodies that it's time to menstrate too... I guess misery loves company...

yea that happens a lot
my mom and I always get our periods at the same time, same with my friends and i!
studies show that women that are together a lot (friends) or live together (mom and daughter) usually have very close cycles!

Nope. My mom and I have our periods at completely different times. However, there is a posibility you could get it when she gets hers.
There are studies that show that you usually get your period around the time your friends do, which happens to me. =)

it has been said cycles match in women who live together whether it be roomates, siblings or Mums so it's possible. I wouldn't worry about it for me I never worry about it unless there is something to worry about.
If you are concerned on the amount of flow or pain I would consult your GP if it is excessive sometimes taking the pill can help this problem.
hope this helps

Yes, you could. Many women will have periods together. It has to do with fermion's(sp) but that does not mean you will have your with her, it could be a friend of yours. It happens with women you are living or are being close to........It's a weird thing that just happens.

No, it doesn't. It's a popular, yet false belief that women who live together have "menstrual synchrony"--that their periods synchronize.
