i think kids should be allowed to keep their innocence as long as possible, especially in a world that is so materialistic and selfish.

Believing in Santa Claus doesn't last long anyway, let them have it for as long as they can.

NO...Lying is never O.K. That being said; If you truly believe, it's not a lie. I believe Santa lives in the hearts, and minds of children everywhere. (Some of us are just big children). Yes Bee....There really is a Santa Clause!

Children soon learn it is make belief, but still go along with the fun of it, no need to be concerned about lying about Santa, they already listen to lies about things in general that can be harmful, Santa belief is harmless.

it's not actually a lie it is just a feeling of giving to man kind it is always better to give than to recieve and it is a practice that children must learn at an early age and the story develops as time goes by the children learn from the parents any ways they follow by example .....so give to the needy all sorts of charities out there in need have a great holiday and remember to teach by example

NO - I did not lie to our 4 kids when they were growing up, and they had wonderful Christmasses........plenty of love, good food and gifts. They were brought up to know that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth. Interesting that when THEY had kids, they did not lie about Santa either!!

I can't imagine going through childhood and not believing in Santa Claus. I don't think they would enjoy the holiday season as much without having Santa Claus to look forward to.

I don't lie to my kids about Santa...there really IS a Santa! just don't tell them who Santa really is.

Edit' My parents did the same thing until my brother and I figured it out, then we started putting up stockings for them and playing along..the tradtion still continues whenever we go to their house for Christmas. It's a blast!

I can't see it's hurt any of us in years past when told
there was a Santa. We do a lot of this kilnd of thing......
don't we all love Disneyland with those mythical
characters running around (Pluto, Mickey, Minnie etc)?
I don't consider this all to be "lies". It becomes a fun
part of life and children love it, and then pass it on to
their children. Go for it.
