I'm in my final yaer in high school after which i'll be heading off for the university. My U.M.E ( University Matriculation Examination) Is just around the corner but the problem is I'm still confused about the Course i'm going to study. I could easily go ahead and do anything but i want to study something that'll lead me to a career with which i'll be fulfilled and happy. I also need enlightenment on different courses so that my options'll not be too limited. Already i'm a science student so the course has to be science oriented. Alternatively, i also do economics so i could also have a course related to that. Right now i offer Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Geography, Economics, Agricultural science, English and a nigerian Language. So I need a corse that a combination of these subjects'll enable me to offer. Please i'm in desperate need of advice.

You should choose your access course AFTER deciding what you'll be doing next, not the other way round! Access courses are aimed at people wanting to go to uni the year after, you'll have to start applying in October/November so usually people have an idea in their mind before starting an access. I did Access to Health and Applied Science, this can help get you into Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, things like that. There is another which is developed specifically for people wanting to go onto nursing and midwifery. The humanities can help you get onto humanities degrees! Languages, history, art, sociology, psychology etc etc. A friend of mine wants to do the same course and i believe she wants to work in youth justice. I'm doing a psychology degree through the OU instead now, the access route wasn't for me and I get to see my son more now as my BSc is all done from home. Why don't you ring student services at the college and arrange a meeting to discuss your needs? Good Luck

My advice is don't take the career test. They are very useless and will just make you more confused. What I do is list the jobs that I really want to have and make a pro and con list.

If you're good in Math and Science, you might be interested in Computer Science or Engineer. There's a lot of courses out there and if you need a list of UK universities (i'm pretty sure ur from the UK, you write 'Maths'), go to http://www.ucas.com if you haven't. I find that site very helpful.

Get yourself a job with IBM. If you want a "future safe" job in science that has no limits, huge science based companies offer the best future, the best security, and the best money for those that exceed.

Looks like you are having too much on your plate! Try narrowing down your academic pursuits and ask yourself what interests you as a career. You are better off speaking to a counsellor.
