Acer owns Acer, Gateway, and Packard Bell brands. They are the world's second largest PC maker. I expect them to become the largest in the next 5 years. What do you think? I bought an Aspire laptop from Staples and i absolutely love it. It's a stunning laptop with great design and dual core Intel, 160 GB for 499! It's such a bargain.

Actually there is a generic company that makes most of the boards and the big companies put their names on them. Acer is good though. I loved Gateway. Dell is not bad either but it is interesting that they are now in chain stores. I never did care for IBM even though I used to work for them. Then there is HP Compaq.

Just another far-east company that undercuts the competition on price to steal American jobs and American companies market-share.

If Acer every becomes really popular...watch how their pricres rise. History always repeats itself and America never learns.

"F" Acer!
