Yup - they are very shy. He needs to be allowed a 2-week settling period. Once you know everything is set up right (UVB, temps, diet) then all you can do is wait. Keep offering food and he'll come around.

Keep in mind, too - uros brumate during the winter. So as long as your uro is a healthy body weight - allow for this natural process to occur...:-)

Yes this is normal. They are very shy animals. Just fix him a nice fresh salad every day and keep it misted. Make sure he has hiding places to feel secure, and that his basking temps are high enough (120F). Too low temps can cause problems.

dont try and handle it for a couple weeks offer it food but dont touch it it is very scared so u need to let it adjust to its surroundings and eventually it will eat
