Plants like Java Fern and some of the Anubias will grow on most surfaces in the aquarium, although not on the glass. Of course the Algaes will grow almost anywhere.

Yes, mainly Java Fern, Java Moss and Anubias take root in the rocks. Plants don't really care if they are "false". When you attach a plant, try and use a thread to tie it so the thread holds them while they attach.

Yes. Algae and Java Moss grow on it. Algae look like green dirt in your aquarium.
