Is Prince a great guitarist?

I did read soem quotes from Steve Vai interview, he says that the purple one is a very talented and skilled guitar player, do you agree?

Well above average in technical skill, and he plays several other instruments as well. He's been giving evidence of his skill since that guitar solo from "Let's Go Crazy", way back in 1984, so there can't be any doubt now. He's a bit like Frank Zappa in that his songwriting can sometimes overshadow his talent as a pure musician.

The boy's record company needs to ease up on their YouTube paranoia, harassing mommies ain't cool, though.

I seen him play on VH1 for the concert for George Harrison, and his solo in "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was mind-blowing. Up to that point, I never realized the guy could wail on a guitar like that. I would say he is a great guitarist in my opinion.

Yes. Prince is an incredible musician. Much better than boring old Eric Clapton.

I was impressed with his Superbowl performance.

He's one of the most gifted songwriters who ever lived.

I don't think he could write as well as he does if he couldn't also play pretty good.
