The Salvation Army doesn't seem to have the heavy salaries at the top and middle management that others do. After Katrina I began to wonder though about people I knew who took their money when they had insurance to pay for their losses. This just seems wrong on some level to me.
If you get a chance to visit the offices of any charity notice the cost of the clothing of the people who work there. The Red Cross employees seem to be very well paid.
This year I donated to the Humane Society and they've spent way too much sending me little gifts and begging for more money.
This is really a hard way decision to make - knowing who to give money and where it goes.

The Salvation Army is my favorite charity, and I trust them completely, as I have never heard of any wrong doing with the funds they raise. I have only heard good things about the SA.

Dungeon Master, Where are you getting your information? The Salvation Army is a church. They have no para-military arm, and they own no weapons. The Salvation Army uses over 90% of the money they raise to feed, house and clothe the needy. There are plenty of bad organizations to bash, why bash a benevolent one? "Ranger"

I do as I was part of this Army together with my grandmother(RIP). And I have seen the good work they do.
Ann Marie J: just coz they ring bells you hate them? I hate those people who dont pick up their mobile phone with those annoying ring tones and when they do pick up they talk loud as if you was on top of a hill. There is no need for that.

Definately not the Salvation Army; For years I've always donated to them, then, low and behold, one day I really needed their help.... nothin' doin' baby. I'll never donate to them again.

I trust Toys for Tots. I mean, what are they going to do, open up the toys and play with them themselves? Sell them on the black market?

Yeah, I do.
Because they are Australians helping Australians.
Instead of helping third world countries that should stop breeding instead of getting assistance to keep making babies.
