just wondering because we are planning a trip to see our team play the rangers

YOu'll have to guess, different teams stay at different hotels (preference etc) and in the case of the Rangers, most stay out of the city (the Hawks used to stay in Newark).
Most teams don;t advertise where they stay because they want to avoid the crowds of fans - they don't mind seeing the fans outside the arena though.
Your best off contacting your team and seeing when they will be practicing, etc

Most keep the teams out of the city due to the distraction. And they don't tell anyone where the team is staying. You can contact the team and ask, but I'm not to sure that they will give out that information.
