everybodies religion should be a private matter. the problem only arise when others feel the need to tell you why their religion is better etc etc.

I'm all for people keeping their own religion.
Unfortunately with Tony Blair, it's a case of hypocrisy. Why did he not convert when Prime Minister. During his time, he advocated many things that were against the Catholic faith, now wonder of wonders, all that is bye the bye.

I think this flies in the face of "Open and fair governement" which was one of the manifestos that labour were elected under.

Would any of the decisions taken by Blair have been affected by being a member of the RC faith. Would his support for any of those actions have been affected by his open intention to be a member of that faith. Would his original Labour party majority have been so large if his intentions had been known.

I dont know the answer to these questions but they fly in the face of "Open and Fair government dont they!

His beloved wife used her position to further her own ambitions and found it difficult to keep her mouth closed when protocol dictated she do so, her father is a long term alchoholic and both are devout RC's.
If Blair had stated his intention to join this illustrious league of religious devouts, would his support have been the same.

By the way, I am a Labour supporter, yet double standards in any party cannot be tolerated.

I see I hve thumbs down already, I can handle that, but just remember that deisions that Blair made under a hidden religious intention, sent many young men to their death.
So if it suits the advancement of your faith to give me thumbs down then please carry on, but think about the graves this man created whilst he mulled over the intention to change faiths.

The thing is religion distorts a persons thinking, and influences there view points on issue's. It's naive to say it doesn't, I think it's important to know a persons religion esp someone who has a high standing in world politics like Tony Blair !!

he wanted to become one long before anyway, but couldn't due to his job..as head of church of england is the queen.

he's lined his pockets and has the "i'm alright jack" attitude.. sod everyone else.

so let him go off elsewhere... glad he left, he's done me no favours money wise except him and his cronies get richer..

only labour MP I have any time for is Tony Benn , rest of them seem to be happy to want to line their own pockets.

thing I'll remember him for is SPIN.. that's about all.. empty words..

Shouldn't matter whether it's Blair or anyone else. How would all these petty reporters like it if we intruded into their lives constantly?
