The 1950s film is seen as out-dated and unprofessional to the modern generation but how will the most recent war of the worlds film (2005) be seen in 50 years. What can we lean about our own culture and sciety from looking at the film.

An unintended comedy. That is, unless they update it and make another remake of it.

We can learn that fear ignites as quickly as a lighted match and gasoline. I understand when the original was broadcast on radio it panicked the nation as a whole.

In my opinion neither one of the films, the 1953 or 2005 version, was true to the book. The 1953 version was closer as it was a world conflict, although the1950s not the late 1800s. The 2005 version was just one guys fight for family, not close to the true story.
If there was another remake that took place in the late 1800s in London and followed the book we would have something. The other two would fall by the wayside.
But without that not happening I think the 2005 version will be forgotten and the 1953 version will be remembered in 50 years as a classic.
