plumber saw the valve and said thats too big for a residential system (low pressure) so i replaced it. what happens if the valve is too big? one thing i know for sure is that valve never once had steam come out, whereas our other furnace has steam come out every so often.

a large valve can allow too much flow causeing a pressure block in the system,
