It's more likely that many of the Anglican dioceses may spit off and acknowledge Rome. The consecration of gay bishops and female "priests" has caused severe divides within the worldwide Anglican community. Since the Church of England can no longer kill you if you acknowledge the Pope, many may soon head that way.

There is a precedent in Wales and in Ireland, where the anglican church was in the minority and it was dis-established in both countries. Perhaps it is time for the Anglicans to start shutting up shop! I don't think that making the true Catholic Church the established church would do us any favours - we have managed perfectly well knowing that we are the true church, whether established or not.

It's just simply that the protestant church is divided into many different denominations. Some churches with only a few members, but not so with all protestant churches, I know some in U.K with congregations in the hundreds.

New Labour, as is the want with left wing governments, will try to suppress/get rid of, all religions. The EU will help them try to achieve this. They may not succeed, but it won't be for the want of trying.
