I want to do something like psychology or some sort of counseling, I would really like to work with abused children. What type of major would that be, and how long does that normally take?

social worker would be a great start. 4yr BA. You have to do community service and internship, but it would be a great start and give you insight and experience. I have a friend who is going into social work. She just finished her internship at a hospital. She is thinking of working with the elderly or dcfs

A degree in cousnling. Would be like a social services or psyc. You would need at least a masters(6yr degree) in Psyc to cousel
like at a high school or basicly any type of counseling.
Social Services you could start off with a BA (4yr degree)
you would then be working with abused children or foster kids even adoptions. hope some of this helps.
