Not at all. Heather. The movie "Heathers." The fact there were 5 other girls, making six total, in my Freshmen English class in HS.. and we had a small school. Being called "Heater," "Heifer" (well, I did like cows, but still,) "HeathCrunch" and any other stupid thing they could come up with. Being the "Hot Heather" on the Cheer squad. Being the "Smart Heather" in Science. It was ridiculous. I could never just be "Heather" There had to be some kind of adjective, negative or positive infront of the name in order for people to know who I was or who they were talking about. Sometimes the adjectives were flattering, offensive, hurtful, or just inappropriate and stupid, but never could someone just say Heather, not even the teachers.

Thank goodness I now live in Germany where the only other Heather you find is a tourist from America or Great Britain.

I quite like mine. It's not very common and is something that is ok for any age group. For example, I can't imagine an eighty year old named Britany or a young child named Ethel! (No offense to anyone with those names) Sometimes people spell it wrong and the pronunciation could sometimes be better, but overall I wouldn't change it.
Happy Christmas :-)

I never felt as if Lisa was a strong sounding name. I know it comes from Elizabeth and I feel that Eliz is a stronger name with a lot of history behind it.

I do not like my given name at all. It's horrible (Danielle) I hate it. I do, however like my nickname (Dani), and I have been called such by everyone since kindergarten when I punched a kid in the nose for calling me "Danielle".

I love it. It flows very well with my last name. My parents chose well. So well, in fact, I am not changing it when I get married in February.
