I have been having wasps in my bedroom for months now, a few each day. Someone came out and looked at the outside of the house, and said there are not coming from the attic, as none were seen coming and going from the outside. But where else could it be. I've been in the attic too, and cant see anything obvious. I'm sure the nest must be somewhere in our bedroom, could it be under the flooorboards? If there is a nest, and they are obviously still active, will it be a bigger problem in spring? How can I get rid of it, if I cant see it?

I was worried about a wasp nest in the loft, I read in a gardening mag. that they only live for one season in the nest and dont use old nests.

By then i had sprayed nest with a £3.50 wasp killer from B+Q. These sprays are pretty toxic-- so beware!

I wish I had not bothered as next door had a nest in loft, they ignored them and the wasps vanished after a year. This snap of cold weather should see them off anyway.

IF you have a cavity wall the wasps could be getting thro a hole in the mortar between the bricks so check around the outside walls if you find a hole buy some wasp killer from the shops and just spray intot he hole the powder gets carrried by the wasps into the nest then block the hole up quick.

i get nest under the eaves usually, but they have also formed in unused boxes in the garage. pick a couple out and try to follow them. if tou watch them for a bit, you will learn their behaviors and can follow them to the nest. i believe they are most active in the a.m. and p.m.. this is how i find them. you can get rid of them by spraying the nest with a wasp spray. if you are near power lines, they have sprays that are non-conductive. the sprays can go up to 29 feet.

One consolation I can offer!! They don't come back to the same nest so hopefully if they have gone thats it - the end of them in that nest!

Suggest you contact the pest control officer at your local Council. They've probably closed for Christmas now,but might have an emergency helpline,or a website.
