2 weeks after losing a baby by miscarraige in march i had the implant fitted at 1st my periods were light and around 15-20 days apart now all i ever do is bleed sometimes really heavy sometimes just spots this is effecting my daily life now i have a non existant sex life because this makes it 10 times worse im paranoid i smell and feel dirty all the time. since i had the implant ive put on a stone in weight !

please can anyone tell me if this is normal ?? i went to see my gp about 3 months ago she says it will even itself out i should have a smear to be on safe side but they wont do me a smear if im bleeding what do i do ???

It can take up to 3 months to fully adjust to being on the implant similar to the pill. Weight gain is also common (mostly water but is caused by the hormones in the medication).

Because of the fact that it is still continuing past 3 months I would recommend getting back in touch with your GP and let her know how much this bleeding is really concerning you and want to see what other suggestions she may have to help deal with the bleeding.

some people never properly adjust to the implant. it can cause all sorts of problems with periods etc. i have loads of friends tat have had it and they have all had really bad side effects from it.

This discharge sound like spotting. Its nothing to worry about. If you have been taking birth control or have an IUD it is normal for this to happen from time to time.
