It is considered Ridley Scott's great masterpiece in his filmography, and I fell in love with it the very first time I saw it on TV. I watched it again in a theater during its 1993 'Director's Cut' reissue, and by then I had realised that the mythical aura surrounding it just kept growing and growing, and that was further cemented when I got the Paul Sammon's book "Future Noir - The Making of Blade Runner", which I firmly recommend to anyone who wants to know everything about its roots and troubled production and release.
I personally fell for everything in the film: the overall mood and ambiance of that fabulously designed and made to be believable future world, the stylish and weird characters, the performances of every single actor/actress in it, the incredibly moody, creative and utterly fantastic music by Vangelis that adds so much to the visuals, etc, etc.
It is a true modern classic within the sci-fi genre in my estimation, and I can't wait to get hold of a copy of the latest 5-disc DVD collector's set, which includes the recent 'Blade Runner: The Final Cut' and 4 other different cuts.

I fell in love with "Blade Runner" the first time I saw it in the theater. I went back to see it a number of times. Back then, you could sit through more than one showing, so I ended up with 10 viewings. It seemed to take forever to get to the movie channels back then, but I watched it nearly every time it was shown.

Yes, I think it's an utterly fantastic film! Everything about it is remarkable~the cast, their surroundings, this whole world that seems as if you could step into it~though most people wouldn't care to.

I even belonged to the short-lived official fan club. I still have the newsletter in which they explained that Decker is a Replicant, which I already believed he was. They told us that Decker and Rachel were supposed to have no "expiration date" but would live out their lives like human beings. Now I hear that they're going to change that. Did they at least declare him a Rep in the newly edited version I've been hearing about?

Oh well... Someday I'll get to see what they did with it. For now, I've seen the theatrical and director's cut versions.

Great film. I loved it.
If my old brain is not failing me I seem to remember reading that they are remastering it to clear it up. It will be coming out on video again.
