I'd put the baby behind the front passenger side and the toddler behind the driver with a space in the middle. This way when they are a little older they aren't right next to eachother and annoying each other. Mum can sit in the middle and attend to each child or sit in the front with you. There is no need for a third row unless you have more kids. I have a station wagon and this arrangement works perfectly. I have a third on the way so will be mixing things up a bit later on.
Oh, and the reason I would put the baby behind the passenger is because infant rear facing seats or capsules usually take up more space, meaning the drivers seat would have to be moved forward more (if the baby was in the middle or behind driver) which isn't always appropriate if the driver is tall/er.
Happy driving and congrats on being a daddy again!

Shouldn't have trouble making it work, its likely to be a tight squeeze, but I've sat in the back of my mom's '00 CRV with a booster seat outboard, and my son's Regent (HUGE car seat) in the middle. Its a tight squeeze, but it works when we want to use all 5 seats it offers instead of taking 2 cars somewhere. I certainly wouldn't feel pushed to purchase another vehicle with a 3rd row with only having 2 kids, unless you frequently take other people places, too.
However, if you're planning on more kids, than i'd certainly start researching all the 3rd row cars available.

First of all, congrats on the pregnancy!
And Second, Everyone who has responded to your question has got it right. If you're not sure that you 100% trust our answers (just as an extra safty step.), go to your local police or sheriff's station and ask them if the car seats are arranged correctly. They are more than happy to help out. I did this when my two little one were that little, and it did help me feel better about driving them around town.
Congratdulations again on the Bun in the Oven!

cute!!! I think I would have new baby in the middle, and the older child off to one of the sides (preferrably on the passenger side so the driver could reach him if he needed something)
That's so cute you're proud and willing to buy an entire car for arrangements, but if you had a child in the back back, you couldn't reach them...
that's soon to be having another kid~ it will kinda be like twins! But congrats on the pregnancy!!
good luck

The seating arrangement would be fine with the 2 kids in the back with your wife; however, if you really want another vehicle, go buy one.

I take it your wife doesn't want to sit in the front as she wants to be beside the baby? Because I have a small car and I sit in the front and the two babies (6 weeks and 21 months) sit in the back.
If you want one adult + 2 car seats in the back you might want to consider these seats as they are 2" narrower than most (however the actual "baby fits in here" part is WIDER than most seats):

You should be able to fit all 3 in the back seat. But I have a question, why wouldn't you wife sit in the front pass. seat? Why does she need to sit in the back?
