I mean we've told himt hat they kid was lying and he was like ok but he doesn't seem as much into it as he was before. Its like he kinda believes it but not really. What should we do? Its going to ruin his imagination...The best part is believing in Santa! Why do parents tell their kids the truth so early? Why can't the kids keep it to themselves? I'm so angry about this! We've taken him to see santa in the mall as well but his spirit still seems ruined...

I went through this with my son. I wrote him a personalized letter from Santa (since Santa sees everything) and told him that I knew what had happened and just wanted to reasurre him that I was as real as he was. Kids want to believe and his imagination, far from ruined should help. If it does end up being his last year all you can do is open him up to the joy of the season in other ways. Such as how the present he got you is exactly what you wanted and how much fun it is to give. I don't know what your religous affiliation is but you could begin to concentrate more on that magical aspect too! Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I'm sorry that you are angry about this but 6 years old is about when they start figuring it out from what I can tell. If you keep telling him that everyone else is lying then what's he going to think when he KNOWS it was all a story?

I never taught my kids the whole Santa myth but I told them NOT to ruin it for other kids and parents and that it was up to the kids' mommies and daddies to decide when the truth came out.

Well I don't know how you can reinstill his believing santa claus but i think after christmas he won't really care if Santa is real or not just as long as he gets presents and is surrounded by family. My son is 5 and when i picked him up from school he told me "His brain told him that Santa wasn't real but yet he still loves coming home and looking at his tree and present. Christmas isn't about believeing in Santa and all that non sense it's about families coming together and the gift of giving.

Just ask him what he believes. If he believes Santa is real then he must be. Last year when my daughter was 10, she was told that there was no Santa and I asked her that question and she believed again. This year is different though, she found where I hid the presents. Just as long as your brother doesn't find the presents. But yeah, ask him what he believes and ask him why?

Just keep telling him that Santa IS real!! Don't let Santa be ruined, my cousin told me santa wasn't real when i was 7 and that ruined Christmas for me for the longest time!

I am so sorry that happened to your little brother. You are so sweet to care so much. Just keep making Christmas fun and magical for him. Don't mention Santa until and unless he does. Six is so young not to believe any more.

Everyone finds out sooner or later....let him find out now don't keep lying to him and then he has to go through it again when someone else tells him, he will get over it

its ok he wouldve found out regardless so now youre going to have to explain to him who saint nicholas was just to balance it out. if you would still like to lie to him about santa then thats not looking like a progressive move for your son
