Well, a black suit is for formal events. And a navy blue suit is for semi-formal events. There are less formal events than semi-formal events. So it is probably true that a navy blue suit is more versatile. You'd simply wear it more often.

Try another aspect to it. Color is art form and reasoning to the human eye. It's associated with different functions, in clothing. Different on canvas. In dress form, black to funerals. It holds more grief. Also, only good guys wear black. Don't figure. Black tie event with that special spmeone? NOT for everyday business. Here's something funny to think about. Let's say your everyday dress was a Tuxedo. You have to attend a Special function Tonight! You CAN'T get anymore dressed up. There's nothing left, unless you're Johnny Depp. Bottom line, remain with traditional, and leave something left.

not sure why you are asking this.

It depends on your coloring and also depends on your wardrobe......if you have mostly black things, such as shoes.....go for black.

If you look better in blue and have the acessories....go for the blue.

There is no right answer. It is matter of personal preference
