When I was in around first grade, I recall having my ken dolls rape and abuse my barbie dolls. I do not recall having been molested myself, nor do I recall witnessing domestic abuse or rape in person or on TV.

Is it normal for this sort of behavior or is it possible something else is going on? Only wondering because my parents are convinced I've been molested since I am frightened to death of any kind of intimacy and touching.

And sorry this is so personal.

You should be concerned. Behavior like that is usually learned, not instinctive. Sometimes, events like molestation can be so traumatic, the victim completely blocks out the event, but still has the side effects, like "barbie rape" and your fear of intimacy. You might find it helpful to see a therapist about your problems, and find the source of them.

It's possible that you were molested as a child and just blocked it out. People sometimes do that with traumatic events. But on the other hand, I have done my best not to expose my son to any type of violence, he sees none on tv and none at home, he still punches kicks and bites, so not all behavior is learned.

Yes, you should be concerned. The behaviour you describe is not healthy. Please talk to a good therapist. if you were abused you may not rememeber it consciously but it will always be there unconsciously and affect your life until you get it resolved.
The good news is that there is lots of help out there, so if you pursue it, you can find a normal happy life and enjoy good relationships.

No, that type of behavior is not normal. Your parents have a valid concern with what may have happened to you when you were younger.

Behavior is learned. If a child behaves in such a manner it is because they have seen, been taught it,been abused,or seen abuse.Children dont just think it up.They learn it by observation or experience.
