If you cut off blood supply to the nerves long enough to have continued sensation loss, then you can expect it to take up to 6 months to fully recover. Nerves heal slowly, though there is some research that high levels of vitamin B can help.

When your arm falls asleep it is because you have pinched or strained a nerve. Best to immobilize the arm with a sling especially at the elbow, certainly don't lean on it or rest on your elbows. You might try some heat treatment and massage. If you keep starin off of it it should clear up on its own. Since this happened 2 weeks ago and the symptoms haven't let up I think it's time to see a Dr. It is possible that you are doing some permanent damage if you dont.

This is called the Saturday Night ailment. The radial nerve has been hurt and it will take its own time to heal - somewhere around 5-6 weeks for a little sensation to return. After that, another 3-4 months for returning to normalcy. What's really important for you is to guard against finger muscular atrophy (i.e. the finger muscles may get wasted since you are not able to use them). The docs prescribe wearing a dynamic splint till the time sensation returns. Do that and you should be fine.

There's not too much you can do besides taking ibuprofen, and maybe stretching your arm if you can find a stretch that helps. Nerves get inured by putting too much pressure on them, and they heal very slowly - it can take months for nerve injuries to go away completely. If it doesn't start to let up soon, you may need to see a doc to get a cortisone injection.
