Would it be ethical to have a baby on the moon? Eventually we'll probably have a permanent base on the moon. A baby born there probably wouldn't ever be able to come to Earth. It might not even develop into an adult normally. Would it be ethical for people to have babies while on the moon?

As there is less gravity and as the fetus formed it may form weaker so I reckon that Science may give a good reason for not recommending pregnancy for women in reduced gravity, saying this if it was scientifically safe to get pregnant and have a child then for me it is not an ethical issue, if it was a prov-en risk then personal choice such as a return to Earth is the right thing to do, like in normal warnings for pregnant women.

It has always been the parents choice where to live , if you move to another Country then the child grows up there why should the moon be any different to another country if it's safe to have children

Either way I would expect mankind by then to know what to do.

Well, if the intention is to deprive of the baby's future, then it's cruel.

But if the intention is for the family to start a life on the Moon, then it's just like having a baby in the U.S.A. Sure the Moon have less resources than the Earth and the U.S.A. have less resources than other countries, but it's the choice the family made.

.
"Ethical" is a subjective means of thought, which is biased on known information & nuturing of thought & opinions. in order to make a judgment concering the ethics of anything. Thus the question would have many answers. Because there are many thoughts.
Also, it is a question loaded on preconcieved assumptions & inturpputations. It might even be a non-question, known in Japan as a Mu question. A question that can't be a question because there isn't an answer.

Thus,If there were people on the moon who lived there, then it would mean that technology had progressed to the point of easy transportion in space, thus a child born on the moon would be able to go to the earth.

Don't worry about things that haven't happened.

I don't think it's an ethical issue, but it is surely a medical issue. Not knowing what effects low gravity would have on the mother and baby during the gestational period should be the primary consideration for not having a baby on the moon.

I see no reason why a baby born on the moon would be unable to come to Earth or wouldn't develop into an adult normally.

If we are advanced enough to go to moon and deliver baby then yes it will be ethical.
We could travel between moon and earth as we travel between continents.

Well if we evolve to the point we can live on the moon, uh think Robotech, Star Trek, or something would it still be unethical to you? Basically it seems to me you are against humans being born anywhere else but earth and that make me wonder about your ethicson if they would actually be considered Earthling Humans.

First of all why would somebody have a baybe on the moon! it's not jest un-ethical,it's INSANE!

If it's outta the moon base the baybe would float away!

And it would maybe have not tight skin cause of no gravity!

Besides, i don't see us using our captins log in space anytime soon.I mean, come on people! If a baybe was born on the moon it would die during pregnency probobly cause when we get food it would like float in our mouth no the nutreants wouldn't get to the un-born baybe.

SO NO!!!! NO NO NO NO NO! NO NO!

unless u want ur baybe 2 float away! then if u want that then yes.

The baby will not come with a space suit. So there is a chance thatt he baby will die.
So it is not ethical.
