So basically, should someone who is only 15 be given 60 years? Isn't that more like vengeance than it is justice?

No, it is not fair. He should have gotten 100 years. Then when he gets out he will be too old to torture another little girl. They will love him in prison and teach him what rape is all about.

60 Years seems extreme for a juvenile. Might as well as give him life, because there is no way he will be a productive member of society after atleast 49 years in the slammer.

I think Dave Chapelle, though funny, hit a serious chord with the problems of our Criminal Justice System. We need to decide at what age kids are adults and able to make their own decisions. We should not have a system where a 14 or 15 year old cannot exercise adult rights and privileges, but suffer the full wrath of the adult legal justice system. Further, everyday drunk drivers knowingly drive their vehicles and K I L L innocent people. These adults get off with less than 5 years of prison on average and parole. That is not Justice.

I believe that it is more vengeance than justice i mean he didnt even kill the child i mean like in september a guy got like 20 years for killing somebody.. to me that doesnt make sense..I guess the judge didnt have much of a prior conviction to base the punishment off of.. but still 60 years.. that is excessive

When a person is sentenced by a Judge, it is a decision as to whether this individual can exist in society under strict supervision ( probation) or whether society needs to be protected by incarceration. For a minor to be tried as an adult, they have to commit capital crimes. As such, age is then not a factor. The severity of the crime is what counts. So yes,,,this is justice.

Generally, I am a person who is for giving juvenile offenders therapy and rehabilitating them to become good citizens. But someone like this guy is a danger to society and must be put away.

How would you feel if it was your daughter? Kidnapped, beaten, raped....At 15 you and I both knew this was wrong, so did this 15 year old. This judge just made sure this individual will not harm another child ever again. Verdict appropriate!

I think it is vengeance so what he did kidnapping, beating and sexually assaulting you still should not give him 60 years that’s not right you also should not put him in prison you should make him do therapy and only as last result you should put him in prison.
