I have a tie.... because it has been my honor twice.... For the last two deployments of my husbands unit (he is active duty Army and we are stationed in Germany) I have organized a huge Christmas party with a full meal of turkeys, ham and all and I mean all the fixings and had Santa arrive with gifts for each and every child and tons of gifts to raffle off for the adults. Every single soldier in the Company attends, married bring their families and single soldiers all come ready to eat and enjoy. It has been a huge success both times and for a lot of these young men being so far from home and not being able to make the trip back to the states and to family .... this is the best holiday meal a lot of them get... I feel honored that I am given a chance to do something to make them feel special if even for a moment.
Happy Holidays

Just before Christmas a few years back, I got a letter from the college I really wanted to go to for my MA, they accepted me! It arrived the day I was giving a Christmas party and it was great because I told my friends that night about the letter. That was a great present.

It was my very first married Christmas. This happened back in the days before military pay records were computerized and you had to carry them from one duty station to the next. Sometimes it took several months to get paid. My husband's pay didn't come through and we had very little money left. Our neighbor hadn't been paid in two months and had two children, so we gave them what little money we had so they could buy their kids each a gift. It was only about $35 but it meant the world to them; and that was the very best Christmas present I ever got.

a few years back my cousin Joe called us and said that he wasnt going to be home for christmas. he was over in Iraq. Joe was always the life of the party and he was a good friend to me. we were all sad that he wasnt going to be at the family christmas party. Christmas eve came and we were having a party playing games, and trying to have fun but it just wasnt the same then at about 10 that night (our parties go late into the night) the doorbell rang. i got up to answer it and there standing in the doorway was my older cousin. i hugged him and cried. i will never forget that. this year him and his wife are coming from California to be at our party and i havent seen him in around a year so im really excited for tomorrow. i cant wait
