when children do crimes they up end in juve for a couple years, or until they 18 or the parents get fined that doesnt all ways help and children know exactly what they do so why should they have lighter sentences list your reasons why or why not

and note everybody cant be rehabilitated, you cant always change a person if some one wants to do something they will do it.

They should get TWICE the sentance that an adult gets. THAT may be more of a deterrent.

I think the punishment should fit the crime the same as an adult. That said the circumstances of each case has to be considered. Thats how it works for adults. In one case I know of a 14 year old shot and killed his father. It was proven in court he had suffered years of abuse as had his brother and his mother at the hands of the father. They tried him as a juvenile and he was sent to juvie until he was 18 and then on probation for 10 years. He is now 28 and holds a job and has a family. Has not broken any laws since. If he had been sent to prison as an adult I think the outcome would have been much worse.

When a child is sent to a penitentiary it guarantees that the person who emerges will be a hard core criminal. No child deserves to be raped which is inevitable in state prison.

Young offenders can be rehabilitated and if there's a chance then it's worth trying. If it does not work the kid will be back in court when he's 18 and he can be sentenced as an adult.
