There's like a huge circle around it. Go outside and look at the moon and tell me what's going on! It's really neat.

It's a halo. Ice crystals high up in the atmosphere are refracting an image of the moon in an arc of about 46 degrees.

You know someone is easily amused when they get overly fascinated by ice crystal refraction. It's like watching the sparkle off new snow. Pretty, but not something to keep your attention for more than a minute or two.

In winter time it's not uncommon to see an 'ice halo' around the moon. It's moonlight refracting through the ice crystals up high. Pretty, eh?

RS is correct, frozen water vapor in the atmosphere creates a halo effect.

probably just some optical illusions , or some unstable air molecule that is distorting image

i think were bein envaded.. i took a cupal a shots wit my shotgun but it pertnier didn do no harm .. i think me and da misses is goin down to da cellar til dis blos over..
