There is no experimental proof I have seen of this, but researchers agree that most dreams are in color. However, because the dream fades so quickly after we awake, our memories of the dream are often recalled in gray tones. Studies show that those who are in tune with color in waking life tend to remember more color in dreams as well. I have also noticed that those of us who grew up with black & white TV have more black and white dreams. I haven't properly researched this yet, it's just an observation. But basically i all depends on the person and nothing is wrong with dreaming in color or in black and white

I don't think anyone can answer that question accurately except you, since dream symbolism varies from person to person. However, when I dream in black and white, it's always about an issue from my past. When my dreams are in color, they have to do with things that are going on in the present. That might not be the case for you, but since you dreamed of your great grandmother, I have to wonder if that's why the dream was in black and white. Hormonal changes can do some pretty strange things to a pregnant woman, and I'd think that even your dreams would be affected. Right before that time of the month, a lot of women (including me) have very strange and vivid dreams due to hormone levels.

I remember reading once that there was a question as to whether or not we dream in color. But I remember one dream, a recurring dream, where our house was bright pink!

I can't answer your question authoritatively, and maybe nobody can. But I have a suggestion! When we have hypoxia, not enough oxygen to the brain, it affects our vision. First we lose color vision. Then we lose peripheral vision and we see only in the middle of our visual field (this is though to to be the 'tunnel' people see when they have a near death experience!)

So if you dream in black and white it might just mean that you're not breathing as deeply in your sleep as you do when awake. Maybe you have sleep apnea!

Dreaming of dead close relative could mean that individual has something to remind you. There is no substance whether the dream is black & white or color. As for pregnancy, there is no obvious link between your grandma and you unless in your childhood, your grandma has said something to you about baby. That may be a link. Otherwise, I say it is merely a dream. In you case, you will have to elaborate the detail the dream of grandma, otherwise, the dream is meaningless. It is hard to interpret without further detail background of your childhood, and your grandma

I believe that the majority dream in black and white. We recognize colors of objects with our eye s while awake, however our mind s eye s are not telling our brains look colors. We are asleep.

To dream in black and white, suggests that you need to be more objective in formulating your decisions. You may be a little too unyielding in your thought process and thus need to find some sort of balance between two opposing views. Consider the views and opinions of others. Alternatively, black and white dreams is a sign of depression or sadness. You may feel thatthere is not enough excitement in your life.

I don't know. All of my dreams are in vivid color and I remember them that way, but I've heard some people say that theirs are black and white.

You're out of color ink?
just kidding.
could mean several things, some of which are issues you need to deal with, and could represent your denial of the whole thing....
just a guess.
