Someone told me that you really truely don't 100% know if you are straight or not until you've taken the chance to see if you are gay. He also said that in every mans life, at one point or another, they question themselves about if they could be gay or not and only then will he know if he is truely straight. Is this true?

Every male friend i have that is straight has said that they have questioned it at one point in their lives, but i don't think you need a chance to see if you are gay. I think sexuality is never 100 percent anything, you are never 100 percent straight or gay...they are just at different ends of the sexuality spectrum. you know more what you like, but every one i have talked to has questioned it, and knew that they weren't because they weren't attracted to the same sex.

I assumed I was a straight man who was uninterested in women for much of my life. Girls would ask me out in college (5 so far in life), but I never felt like dating any of them. I was always too busy, even though some of them would have made good wife material. Then I dated a gay guy and that's when I began to realize I might be bisexual. About a year later, I figured I must be gay for all intents and purposes. So yeah, for me, I had to try it in order to get out of a big pool of denial.

I'd imagine its easier for a straight person to figure out their straight without trying it because society is tolerant of the norm. For those raised in families where gay people are "evil", gay members like myself can have major denial, and need something undeniable to wake them up so they can come out to themselves.

No. I've never questioned my sexuality nor have I ever had the slightest desire to try being gay.
