Why is everyone selling their Xbox 360's for cheap?
On craigslist I'm seeing an xbox ELITE (the 120gb model) go for only $360, a regular 360 for $250 with 2 wireless controllers, etc. etc. etc.
So my question is, what is the mass event that is making all these 360 owners want to sell out so cheaply?
My guess would be they see the PS3 as the better system for 2008, which may very well be true, but still, that many people?
Obviously this is all speculation, but I'd still like to know :-P

I just checked craigslist, and I see many PS3s going for cheap too... several for $320. I don't think that the sale of either one has anything to do with the other, there are PS3s, 360s and Wiis for sale. Some people just buy systems when they can't afford them, or they were stolen and being sold illegally. I don't think the PS3s "superiority" has anything to do with it.

Why wouldn't they be selling their Xbox 360's? The Xbox 360's have a very high failure rate and the majority of the Xbox 360's biggest games have already come out, so really there's nothing really good to look forward to for a long time.
In 2008 the only big game for the 360 that I know of is Halo Wars and it wont even be a FPS, so who knows how that game will do. Gears of War 2 is probably a year or more away from being released. Other than that there is no big exclusive games for the 360. There's going to be Banjo Kazooie 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360 next year but those games wont have the hype that Halo 3 and Gears of War had and I know that for a fact.
My guess is that they are seeing that the PS3 will have the better games next year(no doubt) and they are just sick and tired of sending in their console for repairs every few months.

At a store in Australia they have advertised that if you sell your xbox360 to them with 2 games that they will sell you a PS3 for $250.
Personally... I'd save up and just buy one... I wouldn't get rid of my 360. It would mean having 2 consoles in the house but I don't think I would hear any complaints from my son or husband :)

Uhhhh you answered yourself PS3 is better for 2008. Blu-ray is the victor, home is on its way, and so it MGS4. Also, 360 sucks.
