I like fruitcakes.

Fruitcakes get a bad reputation because they are known to "keep fresh" without refrigeration for weeks AND weeks and weeks and MONTHS! That just turns people off because they don't consider it appetizing if it is so anti-perishable. { How prudish is that? }.... I know someone who is just afraid to eat them because there is such a combination of shapes, textures, and colors that he is skeptical of what unknown ingredients there may be in each mouthful. { How paranoid is that? }...Some personalities can"t grasp the concept of having your cake and eating fruit too...{ How unadventuresome is that? }....Then there are the rare instances of a memory link to a bad experience. {S.N. from the midwest got hit in the head with a fruitcake that was flung out of a train window. As a result; he was in a coma for nine months. While he was in the hospital; his mother had passed away and his house was robbed. His job would not allow him back--and he was only three months away from receiving his 25yrs of service gold watch! He missed all that just because some idiot hated their fruitcake-in-a-tin gift so intensely.}....What I say to all you fruitcake haters is "Try it ! You may be surprised and like it !!

Hi every body has there own test,like some hate fruitcakes and some likes it very much.So nothing wrong with cake,if it was not in demimonde,the bakeries don,t make any more.

That candied fruit is a major turn-off to a lot of people. The few times I've tried eating fruitcake, I've found it distasteful at best and revolting at worst.
But if you enjoy it, enjoy! :-)

It's funny because it is quite expensive in the stores (not to mention very dense). Personally, I have not tried it. I don't know why everyone hates it - it looks so yummy. I will make an extra effort to try some this Christmas.

I didn't hate fruitcakes but it's just not my favourite..
If you give me 3 slices of it, I'll only eat 1slice..

I personally hate the candied fruit in it. If is was just the cake, I'd eat it.

I do not think I have ever had one.
But people always seem to hate them in the movies and on t.v.

for me it depends on who makes it, i have eaten very delicious fruit cakes, also i have eaten fruit cakes at the time i wish my taste buds didn't work
