It's the turning point because Fleance ESCAPES (so maybe I'm splitting hairs), and for the first time things don't go exactly as Macbeth planned. He has moved from acting to fulfill the witches' prophecy to trying to thwart it by wiping out the line of Banquo, and he fails. From that point on, his fortunes begin to decline. Despite his and his wife's attempts to cover for him, his reaction at his coronation feast to Banquo's ghost arouses doubts in the minds of some of his nobles, and they begin to slip away from him. In terms of the theme of usurpation and regicide, this is the point at which he begins to cease to get away with it.
