If you had a miscarriage and your 8 weeks pregnant you would have passed the fetus. At the least you would have Passed what would look like blood clots, and you would most likely have a lot of blood, like a heavy period. If you haven't passed clots yet and your not cramping don't worry this early. It is possible you could be in the middle of a miscarriage and you just haven't passed it yet. but, dates are almost always off, and you might just not produce the hormone quickly enough which would make you threaten miscarriage, this would cause the bleeding, but that doesn't mean it will happen. This happened with my first. He was full term and healthy. My next 4 were miscarriages. The HCG test should be done in two days (I've had plenty of these, i know) every couple days your levels should approximately double. But maybe because its the holiday and you would have to go to the hospital because your doctor will be closed they told you next week. You'll still get the same result, if your levels go up your still carrying, if they go down you miscarried.
I'm sorry to tell you, but this early all you can do is wait. I'm so sorry. I know how horrible it is no knowing. Like i said though if your not passing clots though, don't worry this early. I know its hard not to I was almost hysterical. but it just makes things worse and the stress can cause you to miscarry if you haven't already.

You should first figure out how far along you should be; 4 or 8 weeks. If you have missed two cycles then the doctor in the ER is probably right. If you have only missed one you may be having implantation bleeding. I was supposed to be 7 to 8 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound only showed me at 5 weeks which confirmed a miscarriage. Go see your OBGYN for sure.

I have never been pregnant but my wife has 4 times and she spotted through the first and third and last pregnancy for the first 10 weeks off and on . I wish i could say it is all good news she had a miscarriage on one of them but the doctors said the spotting did not contribute to it the best place to check is web md or the book what to expect when expecting they ar eboth very helpful and God bless .

im not really sure what is happening but i just want to say that you have to be strong if it is a misscarriage. my mother has had 3 miscarriages and they are horrible! but you have to be strong for your other children. i wish you only the best! and good luck with your pregnancy ;)
