Of course. Taught myself to drive one when I was 16. Every vehicle I owned was a stick....until recently, I have the only automatic I've ever had.

Funny, when I went to automatic.....every intersection I came to...kept grabbing in the "air" for the shifter!? I did this for almost a year! I also would catch myself trying to use an "imaginary" clutch! lol! They save money on gas (used to) and can get out of snow trouble more quickly. I loved em...could still drink pop, change radio, and shift...such "talent"....lol. They were cheaper to buy, because a lot of people didn't want to deal with em...and that was also a factor at the time.

Funny, when taking to mechanic shop, and guys couldn't drive it into the bay.....how does this thing work? om

Also, when I started driving the automatic......I was sooooo bored? Is this all I do is sit here ? It feels like there is something wrong....after having the gears and shifting...lol..

Yes, I do.
No, its not as easy as driving an automatic.
You have the clutch to worry about... the shifter to shift, obviously.
There is more to remember but it is easy as cake.
Once you have it down-pat, you got it forever, there's nothin to it.
People are often intimidated by the fact that in the beginning while learning, you stall it and its just generally harder to drive that throwing a car in drive and pressing the gas.... but really, just by driving an automatic, you will udnerstand how to drive a stick because you can hear when the car shifts itself and you'll know when you are behind the wheel of a stick when it needs to shift by listening to it.

Learned how to drive on one. That should be mandatory.

Once you've mastered stick shift, you can drive anything.

Sure do, it's the only kind I drive. Makes it feel more like real driving and if you have a Mustang I think it's the rule, it better be stick.
