Great question.
One guy who had come to mind was Walter Johnson, he had a .235 career batting average.
Not great, but not bad either.

I could fine batters faced, but not official at bats while pitching though.

I can't find a stat on BA allowed for Smoky Joe Wood, but he'd be a candidate, although, like Ruth, he played outfield after pitching (unlike Ruth, Wood's pitching career ended by an injury). He pitched over 1400 innings with a lifetime 2.03 ERA (!), and his lifetime BA was .283.

Babe Ruth was an excellent hitter when he was as pitcher.

One that I found is Ken Brett - he allowed batters facing him a .257 average, and had a .262 average himself.
