At the rate the ice caps are melting, global warming, diminishing resources, and now a possible food shortage - Are you afraid of what the future will bring? And what kind of world we / our children / our grandchildren will be living in?

Do you think we're all be poverty-stricken and live through a time similar to the Great Depression, or do you think, now that we're more "advanced", we'll be able to avoid it and humanity will pull through at last minute to save our planet?

It's not like I spend my every minute worrying about it.
I learned a few things, and it made me think. Will I be able to have a normal life in the future, or will everything be different?

Yes, I'm very afraid of the future, I used to be an optimist, but the last few years have turned me a tad toward cynicism. I do believe in the old saying "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst".

And the ice caps haven't melted before? Global Warming and ten years ago they told us we are going into a ice age. What diminishing resources are you talking about? Food shortage, where, we use corn for fuel, so we must have a abundance of food! I am afraid Al Gore and his followers are going to really screw our children over, And poverty-stricken is just starting to happen, Its here.

I worry sometimes but not about global warming as bad as that sounds. I worry about little things like how will I do at school and all that. But I am trying to stop because I have to learn to be in the present rather than the future.

This is a solid piece of advice. Do not fear the future, but keep all of your "ducks in a row". There will always be folks around who tell you " the sky is falling".....educators included as well as the media. Here it is almost 2008 and the world has not ended.
Keep your head on straight and your butt covered and regardless of what happens, you will be fine.

It is so scary. It brings me to tears sometimes. Today's world is so corrupt..and very....unjust..its like no one ever talks to each other and helps. I'm not depressed or anything but come on...I find it ridiculous that we have first world countries and then we have developing countries. We have to prosper at the same rate.....an object is only as strong as its weakest point.

But overall, I hope everything unfolds as it should. After all, it is our fault.

I do. I am very worried about the future because all my science teacher has been talking about is how we are not going to die, but our grandchildren will be wearing gas mask.

I don't even wanna know. I'm just glad to still be here. I've had more than enough drama in my own life to worry about the rest of the planet.

I'm afraid for my own future. I've not a clue where I'll end up in the next five months.

Life life and have fun. Ancient civilizations believed the end of the world was imminent, and here we are. Chill and peace out.
