My dad died at age 83 in 2004 and then mom passed 13 months later in 2005 at age 80. A year later their little dog passed away as well. It's amazing how life works sometimes.

No, I lost Mom in '90 and Dad in '93. Both my sons were a year old and they don't remember their grandparents. It is sad.
